Hello

I tried identify a song with buffer via the Web Audio API and AudioBuffer interface. https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/audio/raw-file/tip/webaudio/specification.html#AudioBuffer but didnt worked. Is this possible or are just "files" allowed?

My goal is to split an mp3 in soundobjects - store them in a buffer and send these to the fingerprint.

Scenario one: artist station with 5 artists.

Scenario two: taste profile with 5 artists, create station using the taste profile as a seed.

Should I expect the same results in both scenarios?

What I am noticing is that the 5-artist station does play songs by the 5 artists with related artists mixed in (using variety of .4 and distribution focused). However, the station created with the taste profile seems to be picking songs related to only one of the artists and sometimes not even playing any songs at all by any of the artists. (For example, if I put Madonna, Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan in the taste profile, I get nothing remotely related to Madonna.)

Is there something online that describes the algorithm about how echo nest chooses songs given a taste profile as input?

If you just have a list of songs (not the actual audio) and no programming experience, then yes, you're limited to calling song/search and parsing the results, but you can specify the "&bucket=audio_summary" parameter and get back summary information with song/search. If you also sort by descending "song_hotttnesss" and ask for just one result, that should get you close to what you want. Usually, for instance, the studio version will be hottter than the live version.

For example, substitute your API key in this query and see if that works for you.

You can also post your project on the forums here and see if there is an Echo Nest API developer that might be interested in helping you.

We don't publish the specifications for attributes. Valence takes into account pitch, timbre, mode, and other acoustic information driven, like all the attributes, by a human-trained machine learning model applied to every track we analyze.
