Developer Notice - We are sunsetting the song identification capabilities in our API.
On January 5, 2015 we will be turning off the song identification capabilities of the Echo Nest API. Specifically we will do the following:
We will disable the song/identify API method. The song/identify method is used to identify a song given an Echoprint or Echo Nest Musical Fingerprint (ENMFP) hash code. Calls made to song/identify after January 5 will return a 404 error.
We will change the response of the track/profile method to no longer include a matching song_id and title for tracks that are uploaded and analyzed with the track/upload API method after January 5, 2015.
The ENMFP codegen client and libraries will no longer be available for download.
If you have an application that uses the song/identify API you will have to change your application. You have a few options. Echoprint is entirely open source. You can build the fingerprint codegen fingerprinter from source and create and host your own fingerprint lookup service. See http://echoprint.me/server for details on how to do this. There are also a number of commercial and open source acoustic fingerprinting alternatives. The Wikipedia article on Acoustic Fingerprint has a good list. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_fingerprint.
