CARLSBAD When Anita Colby walked into the Veranda Room at the Omni La Costa Resort Spa late Saturday morning, the 22 year old pregnant wife of a Camp Pendleton based Marine corporal began to cry.
"It's beautiful," she said. "I can't believe how many people donated. It's wonderful. I don't really even have words."
Inside the large room were dozens of pregnant military wives, a few brand new moms, a few Marine husbands, and hundreds upon hundreds of gift baskets and items. baby shower for military moms to be at the Omni La Costa Resort Spa in Carlsbad.
Cradling her 2 week old son Lincoln, Samantha Lomax, a sailor based in San Diego whose Marine husband is deployed in Australia, looked almost overwhelmed.

"I'm so glad there are groups that do this for the military," she said.
