Scenario one: artist station with 5 artists.
Scenario two: taste profile with 5 artists, create station using the taste profile as a seed.
Should I expect the same results in both scenarios?
What I am noticing is that the 5-artist station does play songs by the 5 artists with related artists mixed in (using variety of .4 and distribution focused). However, the station created with the taste profile seems to be picking songs related to only one of the artists and sometimes not even playing any songs at all by any of the artists. (For example, if I put Madonna, Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan in the taste profile, I get nothing remotely related to Madonna.)
Is there something online that describes the algorithm about how echo nest chooses songs given a taste profile as input?
