Mobile App with my API Key

We're building an app that has our API key in it. It creates playlists and involves creating a taste profile for the user. How can we differentiate users who all have apps using the same API key? Should we add device ID to the name so that it can be saved?

Hi Mikereilly - when you create a taste profile on behalf of the user you can give the Taste Profile a name. Typically, that can be some ID that you have associated with the user. The created taste profile also has a unique Echo Nest ID (of the form CA123412341234). You use this ID when creating playlists for that user. You can store this ID on the device or in your database. -- Paul

Hello everyone. I'm using jEn to indetify (or search) info of a set of audios. But I have a problem, because using either searchSongs or identifySongs (with its correct parameteres), the method getCoverArt() returns empty String with all songs.

Either I no have album information of the song too.

Any ideas?

redmondsoftware - only certain of our partner catalogs allow us links to cover art for a track. Try using a 7digital-US catalog and you'll see the cover art returned. Currently 7digital is the only catalog that includes coverart. Here's the low level API call that returns the cover art:

Rdio is part of Project Rosetta Stone, so you should be able to use Rdio keys when making The Echo Nest API calls.

Thanks for your interest in fingerprint solutions from The Echo Nest. You have a clear grasp on the differences between ENMFP and Echoprint.

ENMFP provides coverage of the entire Echo Nest song universe but with closed-source libraries for code generation.

Echoprint features open source code generation, its strongest quality. While it doesn't include every song we know about, about two million songs are included in the current database, far more than had been originally listed, and the database is refreshed fairly regularly to keep the hottest and freshest songs included. For your scan-and-match tag cleanup application, over-the-air matching is not an issue.

The community contribution tool along with increasing the coverage and accuracy of Echoprint are all in our plans, but we don't have any announced timeframes.

Hi,

I want to get the hottest songs from a tasteprofile of 10 artists, catalog type.

When using the following api call I get a list of tracks with about 0.5 hotttnesss:

However adding the song_min_hotttnesss=0.8, gives med 2 results with a lot higher hotttnesss.

I would have expected these two to be at the top of the results from the first api call.

Shouldn't the artist_pick=song_hotttnesss-desc pick the hottest songs from the artists? Also I assumed that target_song_hotttnesss=1 should try to get songs with hotttnesss as close to 1 as possible but it doesn't seem to do anything. Also the sort=song_hotttnesss-desc doesn't seem to work either.

What is even weirder is that the tracks in the list becomes totally different if I choose results=5 instead of results=4.

Is this a bug/intended behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

When i do this :

pytrack = track.track_from_filename(mp3)
s = song.Song(pytrack.song_id)
track_ids = s.get_tracks('musixmatch-WW')

It returns always an empty list (track_ids = []) Can you help me please ?

Kylian - what are you trying to do? Are you trying to get the musicmatch ID for an uploaded song? It might be much easier to just query for the song by artist and title instead of uploading the whole song.
